CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)


Planning to work in the construction industry? A White Card is evidence that you have completed a General Construction Induction course/White Card course. This course is mandatory for anyone who works or wants to work in the construction industry (construction zones or performs construction) such as building, demolition or housing construction will require a White Card. This includes construction related positions such as Laborers, Tradespeople, Apprentices or Trainees, Project Managers or Supervisors or those who previously had a White Card, but haven’t worked in construction for 2 years.
CPCCWHS1001 provides you with an understanding of how to control common hazards and risks on a construction site. It is a requirement for any worker on a construction site to undertake general induction training and receive their White Card. Successful completion of this unit will enable the student to achieve their licencing requirement to enter a work/construction site. The White Card course is nationally recognised, meaning you will be able to work anywhere in Australia.

Course Overview


The White Card will enable to begin or continue your career in the Construction Industry
In this course, you will be required to undertake Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) induction training within the construction industry. It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of OHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.

Course Duration and Structure


The course delivery modes include:
Face to face (Theory and simulated practical in class): 1 day – 6 hours
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements to this qualification. Applicants must be 18 years or older

Identification

Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).
Please note that non-Australian Driver’s Licences are not accepted.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D.

Attendance

Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED if participants arrive 30 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

Course Outline

• In Class Assessment which consists of a combination of written, question and answer, case study questions, projects and multiple choice questions.
• Skills assessment which includes 4 tasks to complete
• Observation Checklist which is a checklist that the assessor uses to assess the student’s demonstrated skills during the skills assessment

Fees

Fee for service: $120
• A payment of AUD$20 might be required for the re-issuing of official academic transcript or licence.
